psc 2510 ceases to be visible to PC

I am using an HP PSC 2510 on a wireless LAN. The PC suddenly stopped being able to detect the printer. Upon trying to re-install the HP software the installation routine keeps looping:

it asks me whether I connect to the printer through the network or directly
it detects the printer and seems to commence installation
it asks me whether I connect to the printer through the network or directly

I re-installed Windows and all was OK for a day or two but the exact same problem has now re-occurred.

I am using an Aspire 1520 with Windows XP.

If anyone has any ideas I would be grateful.
