I hope someone can lead me in the correct direction. I Have created a few sites in PS7 sliced them up and saved for web. This produces a images folder with all the slices and the index.html file. I open DW and start a new site or define a new site, set the local folder to where i just saved this images and index.html. I must tell you the original .psd before it is sliced is 750 wide by 600 high. The problem i am having is when i save it after making a few changes to it in DW (images swaps colour scoll, whatever) and then preview it, everything is fine at 1024 X 768. This is the problem now (everyone says thank god!) when i preview it at 800 X 600 I get a scroll bar across the bottom? how is this possible the original file i sliced is only 750 wide. How do i resolve this issue? any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I have done about 4 sites this same way and the same thing happens to all of them...prime example is
thanx everyone and sorry about the length

Hi,

Now I know you said your file is only 750px wide but my computer says it is 800px wide. Somewhere there is an error. DW must have the wrong WIDTH attributes in the <IMG> tag or maybe your picture is that wide, OR the other thing I am thinking is that your HTML page doesn't have any margins set. Therefore the picture is indented a bit and forcing the scrolling. You might be able to overcome your width problem by adding the following into your <BODY> tag:

TOPMARGIN=&quot;0&quot; LEFTMARGIN=&quot;0&quot; RIGHTMARGIN=&quot;0&quot; MARGINHEIGHT=&quot;0&quot; MARGINWIDTH=&quot;0&quot;

That might be your answer it might not be.

Would it be too much trouble to see a full size non sliced picture or even your .psd file or a duplicate flattened .psd file?

Hope this helps! NATE

Sure you can see the original .psd if you wish. I put the incorrect page up might have been set to 800 wide, I will have to look into that one. However I know that is less than 800 and i still get a scroll bar at the bottom when set at 800 X 600.

Thanx for all your help, let me know where i can send that .psd to and i will send it to you to have a look at,

Brad

Hi,

I went to yesterdaysglory.com and then did a print screen and pasted it into PS and it said that the banner was around
800 too. Could I see both .psd files. Send them seperately to design@spyderix-designz.com

Also when you make banners for an 800*600 resolution screen, the maximum width you can use (if you set your margins all to 0) is 780px. You have to remember to give room for the outline of the IE browser and for the scrollbars. And I think it's just a bit smaller to perfectly fit into a Netscape Browser.

Hope this helps! NATE
