I have a Windows 2003 64 Bit Server.
Remapped Drives.
No windows updates to install.
I'm setting up the pre-requisites for PS4 64 bit edition.
I've installed from the CD:
Java Runtime Environment Version 1.4.2_06
.NET Framework Version 1.1

When I try to install .NET Framework v1.1 SP1 from Windows update, it throws back an error:
SLF.tmp - Common Language Runtime Debugging Service
Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.
Process ID=0xbf4(3060), Thread id=0x954(2388)
OK to terminate, Cancel to Debug

I've tried uninstalling everything and reinstalling.
Tried installing .net first and then doing sp1, didn't work.
I've tried repairing .NET from this KB:

I've tried some registy magic from this KB:

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hello,

have you tried to install .net frw 2.0?

if that is not working then maybe the best way to reinstall the server, it should be the fastest way maybe...

Cheers

Everything I read says not to install .net 2.0 because it is no yet fully compatible with PS4, but mainly not compatible with WI4.

your not trying to launch the installation from a network share are you?

we had a similar issue whilst executing over the network. If the install was run from a local source, no problemo!

good luck
