PS file contains arbitrary white regions

When I try to print an A0 or A1 sized poster to a file from OpenOffice Draw under Windows (with a DesignJet 5000ps driver), I get a ps file that contains a part of my poster, but about 80% of it is covered with an arbitrary white rectangular area instead of the desired content. The area doesn't coincide with any of the bounding boxes in the drawing.
Could this be some memory problem? Because Printing to A4 works, A3 works but starting with A2, the white areas begin an d seem to get bigger (percent-wise) when going to A0.

I'm completely frustrated. Does anyone know if it's a PostScript or a driver problem? The ps file, by the way, is about 240 MB in size - could this be a problem? I have to be able to print this appropriately until Friday, 26th of July .2006, 15:00. It's really urgent.

The PDF document works (apart from one font issue in a graphic), but I don't know if the quality will be suitable for the A0 Size printout.

I'm grateful for ANY hints, be it about PS, Draw or PDF.

Thanks in advance!
