I have downloaded the latest HP Laserjet 4 Family PostScript Point & Print Bundle (hplj4_ps_en.exe) from HP's website, and can not get it to work. I get an error on the printer that reads W2 INVALID PERS.
This is the only PS driver I see for Win98. I have a certain app that needs to print through a PS driver, and have no problem on my 4050's and 4100's with the latest drivers from HP's site.
Any ideas on the nature of the error are greatly appreciated.
BTW, if anyone has a working Laserjet 4 PS driver for Win 98, please let me know where I can download it from.

If it is truly a LaserJet4, then it is NOT a Postscript printer unless it is really a 4M or the Postscript chip was subsequently installed.

The 4000 etc. are postscript capable.

Thanks for responding. Sometimetimes you look before you leap. My only question is "why does HP offer the driver?"

I assume that the driver is available because you can, or could at one time at least, add Postscript capability to the printer.
