Hello all,

A quick question. On my paper, we have images which are being processed as "cut-outs" - ie they have a Photoshop clipping path applied. When these are dragged into an InDesign picture box, we have to choose this path manually through the Object "Clipping path" menu.

My question is simple: is there a way to have this option enabled by default for any pics which have a path?

Thanks!

If you use Place rather than drag and check Show import options, you will get the option for "apply PS clipping paths".

Just out of many years habit I have a tendency to make the clipping path in PS and save as tiff check the save transparency box. Never had a problem oputting those in ID.

Using OSX 10.3.9 & 10.4.11 on a G4, G5 & Intel Macbook

One thing I do is to not use the clipping path, but use a mask on the image, removing the background. You can then bring in the layered file when saved as a .psd and I haven't had any problems doing it that way.
