Just looking for any advice on my problem. PS maxes out my CPU and locks up. Adobe took me through all their fixes for this problem (Disabling norton, deleting *.tmp files, reinstalling 7.0 in safe mode and a gamut of others). They finally gave up. Since I have a compaq, I used my recovery CD and reverted my machine to factory condition. I reinstalled PS 7.0 and that took care of the problem. When I installed my Norton AV program and checked PS, things still looked good. With every little change in the system, I would open PS and check. When I received my notice that I needed to download updates (9) for norton, I did so. Right after, as usual, I checked in PS, since I made another system change: same problem as before, cpu maxing out, locking up. I disabled Norton with no success, then uninstalled it. Still no success. Was this just a coincidence or is it possible the Nortion is the problem. I did a search and found no such conflict. I am running a 1.7 P4 512 XP machine Thanks in advance, Bruce
