Hi All,

I've some problems with my DB pruning.
I'm working with BrightStor ARCserve Backup
version r11.5 SP2 (Build 4232.

The backup is done to disk (NAS) and everyday a DB pruning job is runing.
All backup older than 10 days should be deleted.
The problem is that the session are empty, but the files are not deleted on the NAS.

How can I tell to the software to delete the file on the NAS?

If I see in the console everythink seems to be ok, but files stay in place? Why?

Thx in advance for your response.

If you are backing up to a disk and you want the old backups removed then here is the way to do it.

Backup to disk it done by creating a FSD (File System Device) and each FSD = one tape.
For example a job that is supposed to keep ten backups and then start overwriting the old ones can be setup this way.
Create 10 FSDs all in the same Device Group.
Create a Job with a Media Pool set for 9 media in the Save Set.

The job can be a Rotation (you don't want GFS) or Custom or you can setup 10 Custom jobs set to overwrite. There is a lot of flexibility in how to setup scheduling for the job. The point is to have the job overwrite the old FS
