I cannot get Personal Ring Group [primary multiline set] to accept an analog set as a member from a different 3300 on the cluster.

Is this not supported? [MCD4.0]

Is the Analog station listed in the Remote DN form where you are creating the PRG.

does the analog station have any special features applied such as night bell?

Personal ring groups will not accept directory numbers from the remote directory phone. If you want to add a phone on another 3300 in your cluster I believe you need to use the EHDU feature stupid as that might be.

The single biggest problem with communications is the illusion that it has taken place.

Loopylou - That's the first thing I checked and the docs I read led me to believe that Remote DN's were allowed.

Specifically the following:
CAUTION: For Remote Directory Numbers, changing the cluster element index programming for a DN that is a member of a PRG could cause problems with database integrity. As a guideline, DNs which are members of a PRG should not be changed from the Remote Directory Numbers form

I cannot find anything that says that remote DN's are not allowed.

I think you are right that it doesn't say anywhere they are not allowed but when you try to program one into the PRG, the 3300 will not accept it. At least it didn't when I tried it on MCD 4.0 SP2. Might have changed since then.

Yes the ONS device is on the Remote Directory.

I can only add devices to a PRG that exist on the same 3300. I need to do some reading about EHDU, not tried it before.

This is a complete mystery to me. I've not tried to create PRG's with Remote DN's but the Caution note in the help files appears to be a classic example of the exception that proves the rule.

If you are cautioned against changing CLID's because of the affect it would have on Remote DN's that are members of PRG's does that not imply that Remote DN's can be members of PRG's.

My brain hurts...

IT is confusing and frankly stupid you can't add an RDN to a PRU but as mitelmitel has also found out you simply can't do it.

Hopefully a future feature. Another item for the Mitel wish list I guess.
