proxying in vmware

does vmware 5 or 5.5 support proxy servers i am planning to use either squid or isa server which will require 2 NICS, any help or info is appreciated.

just try.
VMware supports OS and therefore apps, too.
Technically you could use ist.

But you should have at least two NICs in your host computer (because of performance reasons).
Then you can assign virtual switches to physical NICs.

Yes, you can.

I've successfully used ISA with two nics in a system.
Simply use seperate vm bridge ID's for each nic..
i.e
NIC 1 physical private network - vm bridge 2
NIC 2 physical public network - vm bridge 3

Set the TCPIP properties as neccessary within your O/S and assign each adapter to the relevant vm bridge accordingly.
