Hello, I am upgrading and redesigning a very old small business network that previously did not have any internet access. I am upgrading all hardware and network to Windows Server 2003 with AD. The requirement is that internet access be available on all systems but restricted to users that have permission to access. All users should be able to access the company website, however (which is off site).

I had planned on repurposing the old server to a Linux-based firewall (Smoothwall since the price is right...) and I have heard that installing Advanced Proxy will allow Smoothwall to authenticate against AD. Has anybody implemented this? Is there another way that anybody has had success with?

Thanks,
Chris
