proxy server settings on solaris 5.8

Hi all,
I'm new to solaris and unix.I have a sun box with iplanet webserver behind the firewall. I want this sunbox to be able to access some sites on web. I need this because the "intranet" page I'm using contains some data that has to be picked from these sites while html is parsed by the webserver.I was told that need to make some settings regrading proxy server on the sun box, so that it is able to reach the web. only thing is i don't know how and where!!
