Proxy Server settings cleared

I have a user that is constantly having to reset their proxy settings. Something is happening to his pc that is causing the settings to be cleared when he reboots. The only unusual thing that he has is AOL. He will access it from home using a dial-up connection. I suspect this is the cause but cannot find any info on it. I looked around on AOL's web site but I didn't see anything about proxy settings being cleared automatically. Anybody have any other ideas. Thanks in advance for any help.

Help, I am also having this problem. However, my users are not using AOL at all. We have the proxy settings under the Dial-Up Settings. We continuously lose the check in the box to Bypass Proxy for local addresses. This is driving me (and my users) crazy!

After doing a bit more research and thinking about this issue further, I believe it may be a rights issue. I am going to try making the user an admin on the box, setting the IE options and then taking them back out of the Admin group. This will be a pain to fix for the people who already have their machines, but not bad for new installs.

I also saw a reference in one post to modifying a registry key. However, I looked at mine and the key is not there. I am very familiar with creating registry keys and importing them, but I'm not quite sure where to create this key. That would be an easier solution to this problem.

Any ideas?
