Hello

I need to do a fresh install of NT 4.0 SP6a, IIS and Exchange all on one server.

I has been a long time since I've worked with these apps, I do not remember the order of installation and patch order. Can anyone help me with this?

Specifically, what gets installed 1st and then what patch and also where are these patches located. Any ports need to opened specifically or will this be done automatically?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

install NT first ... :)

not that i've actually done it, but i'd assume:

install nt4, patch it, install exchange, install IIS, patch it.

LOL. Thanks.

I was pretty confident on that 1st step. :)

Years ago, I remember seeing and using installation order documents for such an installation. However, due to MS's always changing dynamic, these are gone.

So I'd like to tap into the knowledge of those who may have some recent experience with this.

Thanks again.

ok ... forgot to read this ...

nt, then sp6, then exchange, then iis, then sp6 (again) then possibly 'microsoft update' the thing ...

you'll need IE 5 or later to do the MS thing but it might well be worth while doing if this machine is gonna be directly on the web ... IIS needs a hell of a load of patching.

not of course that i use MS myself, but i've seen it done a fair amount :)
