Hey All,

I *really* had no idea where to put this thread.

Currently have a site that is running a Microsoft ISA Proxy server. This handles the Proxy'ing and Authentication to the internet.

I'd like to replace ISA with Squid if possible. In regards to Squid authenticating from a MS Active Directory structure, how does it work? I understand that Squid doesnt support particular NTLM methods and as such each time the user opens a new browser they need to reauthenticate but thats no big problem.

I just need to ensure we can allow access to some users, while deny access to others.

The other thing is, I have always seen the upside to running a transparent proxy, so when users connect to our WiFi or Plug into our lan they just get redirected. However I know you cant run a transparent proxy and authenticate at the same time. Does anyone know of a solution to this.

Regards, and happy new year!
Nick.
