Proxy autodiscovery does not work

I'm trying to configure proxy autodiscovery but it does not appear to be working.

The proxy server (IAS 2000) is at our ISP, which is accessible directly from our LAN/WAN through a firewall. They have configured an autoconfiguration script for us, which is working fine when I configure it manually.

I have configured a wpad alias in DNS, and configured DHCP option 252.

I can understand the DNS route does not work, because the script is only accessible on a non-standard port. But DHCP is configured correctly ( Why doesn't that work?

I'm having troubles with autoscovery too.
I've configured DHCP option 252 and DNS, but when I look at the log to check requests, I see that the client asks for instead of so requests are not fulfilled and autodiscovery doesn't work.
I know I can use a policy or a script to set those options, but I'd like to know why it doesn't work.
