proxy authentication

We just upgraded to version 7.0 on a Win2k box. Now my linux workstations cannot get to the internet. I get an unauthorized user error and a not that states:

"This may be due to the fact that your browser does not support proxy authentication.

Our Netscape users worked well with Raptor 6.5. Is there a setting that will allow proxy authentication to pass thru the firewall?

is the firewall acting as a proxy server or do you use an external proxy ?
