hello all, I have a NT 4.0 svr SP6a running MS Proxy Server 2. This server has 2 NICs, 1 internal and 1 external. The only DNS servers we use are 2 of our ISP's DNS servers.

I can ping outside fine from the Proxy server, but I cannot ping outside or the DNS servers from any client. Internet access is working fine on all computers, but it seems as if that is the only avenue to connect to the outside. I need to be able to use other app's that access the internet independent of IE. Can anyone help?

hi - have permissions been set for clients to enable pinging through the proxy? the server end may allow admin through - but from the wrkstns users may not have permissions. But to log on as admin on wrkstn to double check.

I think ping goes through port 61 (best to check though) if permissions have to be setup.

Good luck

My 2 cents...
