Following up on thread798-1521063

According to the 5.0 manuals, it would appear that XBK is still a supported method on 5.0
Pages 130-135 Is this the case? Is anyone using XBK on an 1000E

I’ve read in a few forums and this thread798-1496066 that XBK and XBT are the preferred options over EDD as you get the LD117 ethernet config and username and passwords. Having never had to actually perform an actual restore I’d like to find out what everyone out there is using to XBK to backup and more importantly restore their CS1000E config.

I’m looking to find a method that has been proven and from what I’ve seen, only the XBK has been. If I can use FTP to transfer files off of the RMD that would be the obvious easiest method.

Thanks Todd

I use the Utilities tool in LD 143. I can Archive the whole system and then rebuild it from scratch when I have corruption. Only has happened 3 times on all of my systems, but we archive every 30 days on all of them.

I beleive XBK is only supported on the SSC card - which you can still have with 5.0 as long as you do not have IP.

Sorry guys I just realized that I posted the link to the CS1000M. Here's the proper link

Pages 101-104

If you have an SSC card in your system does that not mean that you wouldn't have a CPPM card? Speaking 1000E here.

The link above is referring to using the XBK process on an SSC or a CPPM card.

Trying to find our if anyone has successfully used XBK and XRT on a CPPM. If not what are they doing for backups?

Thanks,
Todd

In my experience, the upgrade command in LD 143 only works on SSC based systems.

If I type in the command on a CPPM based system, the system responds with 'CCBR001 invalid command'
