I have spent a month or so typing-in and proof-reading the manual for this excellent device. I will release it when I am convinced it is both complete and correct.

There are two items left un-answered in the manual that I am looking to complete, as I intend to use them.

First, there is mention of two cables used to connect two TEC-20's together to perform C.O. Trunk simulation. They are cables WICA500016 and WICA500017. The WICA500016 cable connects the audio path of both units, and the WICA500017 allows data interchange between both units. I have a fair idea how both cables should be wired, but since these testers are so hard to find, I prefer to work on the side of caution. I am also looking for the wiring specs for cable CA001 (Monitor Trunk Cable).

Secondly, near the end of Section 6 in the manual (Operating Instructions), there is mention of the commands used to setup Internal Modem Operation.
They are listed as:

2j0#1Z (Start-Up) and 2j0#00 (Cancel)

Where Z is a unit number you assign to the TEC-20 you are programming.
Here's the catch: What the heck does the lower-case letter j represent?
I have tried all variations of numbers and * as well as #, but since the TEC-20
provides no acknowledgement of any dialed command, there is no way of
being certain which command works (at least not until my second TEC-20 arrives, and I get the correct cables made up).

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. This will also allow me to correct the manual and convert it into a PDF file.

I have since located a source at the manufacturer the indicates the
the correct commands are 2*0#1Z and 2*0#00 respectively...

I own a Protel TEC-10. A bit more basic than the TEC-20, but still a great little device! [bigsmile]
