Is there anyway of stopping Normal.dot being written over I.E the accindental or deliberate assigning of new toolbars or customising of current ones and then that version being saved back as the new normal.dot
Also the accindental or deliberate writing of inaaporpriate text in the document and then saving that as the new normal.dot.

I believe there must be a way to stop, using VBA possibly any such events happening.

Cheers

Hi

If you use the switch /a at the end of the shortcut for word i.e

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\WINWORD.EXE" /a

This will prevent all global templates and add ins from being loaded in to word when it starts up, therefore any changes the user makes to normal will not be taken into account and any toolbars they have created to come in on startup will not be loaded either

Hope this helps
Colin
