I want to have MP3's that people can listen to on my site, but I don't really want people to be able to store them on their PC, is that possible?

Not unless you have a streaming Audio/Video Server, or access to one. If you have the mp3 embedded in the page that will play through the beatnik player then it may work. Otherwise when the users click on it the browser will act as if they were downloading the file, at which point it is on their machine.

If you are trying to demo music then only encode part of a song instead of the whole one

I was afraid that was the answer. Thanks for both your posts anyway
