I have tried without luck. I know that I can protect files in Microsoft word by assigning a opassword to open the file or indeed to modify it. Is there any way i can assign a password to a folder? Please help

You can create a folder and assign Security to the folder, what version of MS are you using, in Version MS XP, you would create the folder, then right click the folder and go to Properties then go to the "Sharing" Tab. You can have it so that no one can go in it but you, or you can give other people permission to go into the folder.

You can also assign a password to a files. Here is how you can do it.

File --> Save As --> Click on Tools at the top right hand corner of the Save As dialog box --> Security options.

You should be able to set both passwords there.

I hope this helps.
