Hi there,

I have a spreadsheet that I'm making and there are many cells with very complex programming attached to them and some cells that require user input. How can I protect this sheet so that users can only touch and input data in a few select cells and preventing them from screwing up the others that don't need to be touched and will cause a complete meltdown if accidentally altered.

I have tried and tried to look this up all over the net and don't really seem to get anywhere. Seems it wants to protect the sheet first before it will allow user ranges (which is what I thought I needed to do), but then once protected it greys certain functions out.

I'm using Excel 2010 home edition.

Thanks

NATE

hi,

UNLOCK the cells you want the user to change, using the Cell Format Protection TAB.

PROTECT the sheet, using the specific properties you want applied to the sheet to restrict the users.

Skip,
