I belong to an employee representative group for which we have a number of sensitive documents that we want online on the company intranet but with access to only members of the group.

In the past information has been passed around that could only have been obtained by unauthorised access to emails & documents.

We want to be able to store documents on our intranet but I’m worried that our IT dept could easily hack into them by using one of many password breaker programs.

So I’d like any information on the best way of holding these documents safely on our intranet (or should we be looking at storing them offsite somehow?)

Many thanks
Frank

if they are on your employer's network, you cannot truly secure them.

if they are on "your website, you can control access.

however, nothing on the internet is truly secure!
