Hi there!!!
I have 1 terabite HDD, with mp3 and mpeg files, I'd like to know how to protect this HDD with password, I want to prevent from moving my files out without my permission??

Protecting Hard Disk Drives can be a pain. I would recommend using a backup tool and backing up the data to external hard drives.
Password protecting a hard drive isnt a very good option because people often forget their password. Even we, as IT Professionals sometimes forget what password we use - we just have so many. Backing up the data and encrypting it will surely save you time and it will be the most reliable option in my opinion.
Hope this helps.

Windows XP was supposed to ship with My Private Folder, an encrypted password-protected folder. They backed out of it when IT professionals worried about data loss due to forgotten passwords and no built-in backdoor, and parents worried about what their kids were keeping secret from them.

It's still available though:

My personal opinion is if you can't recall an important password (or write it down and store it someplace safe) then you deserve whatever you get (or can't get). I have all our critical Domain passwords in a file hidden on the accountant's local system, so anyone can get into the server, local machines or firewall in the event I was "not around" for whatever reason.
