Hello

Would someone be able to help me protect an autocad drawing from editing. In 2002 it was easy but 2006 seems to not have the protection button. I want to be able to email my drawing in AutoCAD format but not give the receipients access to edit or modify the drawing.

Please Help

Hi Jessica,

Can you create DWF files for your client/contractor - they're smaller and can't be edited?

Hi Todd

If I create DWF files doesn't the receipient need to have a dwf viewer or can they open them in AutoCAD?

Thanks for the Response

Jessica

Hi Jessica,

Yes, they will need a dwf viewer but it is a free download from Autodesk. There used to be a way to view them in AutoCAD and I thought you just inserted them as an OLE object, but I can't seem to remember how to do this.
