protect media files in a directory?

Hi folks!
I have a question.
I have a website with one folder that is password protected. It would work alright. No body can read the aspx files without logging it. However,
the problem im having is people can still view my photos in the password protected folder if they use absolute urls without having to login.
For example, Whats the proper solution to handle this type of problem?
