I have a compaq prosignia 200 server with 3 4.3 scsi drives attach to compaq 2L array controller. During boot up it finds the array controller but right after it scanning scsi drives and then states unable to find scsi devices. I am able to use the drives perfectly in windows 2000. But in event viewer states the error message as "the driver has detected that \Device\Scsi\Cpqarray1 has old or out of date firmware. Reduced performance may result. Could this errror be link to the undetectable drives during post. Do I need to update the driver on the 2SL-array controller? I appreciated any advice, thanks.

Different issues. The reason it says no SCSI devices detected is because you're using an array controller (2SL) and when it is detected it also says something like (1 Logical Drive) after the controller name - that is your scsi drives.

The "error" is because you don't have any additional SCSI drives attached to the integrated plain SCSI controller.

You need to download the 2.47 Options Rompaq and upgrade the ROM's on the Hard Drives to solve the Event Viewer error.

Thanks for the advice jkallen I'll give it a try.

I can't find that download 2.47 anywhere on the compaq site. Do you know a link? Thanks so far
