Looking for Pros and Cons of each.

Which would be the better option.

I am also considering this. I see the price as a big factor so far.
I hope we'll get pros and cons, we are ordering a new server soon.

Linux Pros: Price

I've run networks where Linux was the only file server very nicely. The only real downside is Linux not being about to act as a PDC, but I didn't care as we didn't really use that many of the windows services, just needed the file server.

Yea, we have a test server running SAMBA, but not really playing with it. We use a login scripts through AD. That should not make much of a difference I gather.

Also how does Home directories that AD makes work with it??
