As noted on several recent posts, we have had major problems with SBS, culminating with a re-install of SBS 2003 today...

All of our problems started with a new version of a server app that required SP1. It took me a while but I did find an MS doc on the proper way to install SP1 on SBS 2003 (Downloading and Installing Windows Small Business Server 2003 Service Pack 1). However, I could find nothing on the proper way to install SP2 on SBS 2003. And our SBS 2003 server started having all kinds of OS problems after I tried to install SP2 ... and failed!

Any ideas on how to do it properly ... or, with what I have just lived through, should I just leave it alone?

Thanks very much,

If there is a problem loading SP2, chances are there were problems or mis-steps in applying the other service packs. As you know, there's quite a little dance around installing SBS SP1. If I were you, I'd just be careful during the SBS SP1 install, and then read the release notes for SP2 before installing it and make sure you know about any known issues. Chances are you won't have the same problem twice.

But as the GUI itself says, make a full backup....
