Prompt for Sort Order

I have a report that sorts by Meterid. Now I need to be able to sort by meterid or customer name depending on what the user chooses. Also, I would need to display what the sort order so users don't actually have to make a choice (not everyone needs the different sort order). Does anyone have suggestions on how I would accomplish that?
