I keep seeing this message in the log files: No appendable media could be mounted. Switching to overwrite operation on scratch media.

The differential daily backup has been successful, even with this message, until a week ago. I have been able to backup our network servers daily up to this time, and usually the amount would range from 3gb to 9gb depending on the day of the week. I have a DELL 5-tape backup drive set, and have always ran the week on 4 tapes, then over the weekend I run 2 tapes for a normal backup.

All of the sudden I'm being prompted for a fifth tape that hangs the entire process. I added a fifth tape yesterday morning and the job started, so I aborted so that it could run the Wednesday job with the total tapes. Now I come in this morning to find that last night's job hung waiting for a sixth tape (scratchable media?)! HELP!

(The tapes are 35/70GB DLT's, and our average normal backup amount on weekends is 55GB)
TIA
-Greg
