Prompt for parameters on open

I'm very new to Crystal (8.5) I've played around with it and still prefer Access, but I want to learn and am having trouble with parameters.

I would like my report to prompt the user for the parameter values every time the report is opened and I can't find any help as to how this is done?

Reference parameters in the Report->Edit Seledction Formula->Record and the report wil always prompt on open or when the users select refresh (lightning bolt icon).

An example would be:

{table.date} = {?MyDateParameter}

Here is what I have set up so far.

{DOCDATE} >= {?dtStart} and
{DOCDATE} <={?dtEnd} and
{ITEMCLASS} = {?ItemClass} AND
{CUSTCLAS} = "INTERNAL"

but the report always opens with the data that I last saved it with. It does prompt when the user clicks the lightening bolt, but I don't want the user to even see the lightening bolt.

I unchecked the option to save data with report,but then the design view comes up instead of the report asking for criteria.
