I have a Prologix 9.5 that seems to be functioning properly but gives "connection refused by peer" when attempting to connect via the CLAN. When trying via the modem, the modem handshakes ,returns a blinking cursor, but then never returns a login prompt. I don't have anyone on-site so I'm not sure what's trying from the terminal does.

I saw this same issue at this site about 3 months ago when it was a 9.1. Thinking it was potentially a bad processor, I replaced the 2402 with a 9.5 and all has been well for a few months but now we're back to the same issue. Any ideas? Software corrupt? Bad CLAN?

Theory I'm going with is replacing the 799Cv3 with a 799DPh13fw44. Looks like old Clan's had a habit of holding open login sessions until the max was met. It looks like 1 session is always left available for the SAT on the Definity's so I'm hoping I can go on-site and get access via SAT, view/kill the current login sessions, then replace the TN799. Otherwise I don't know of any other way to restore access other than a hard reboot. I welcome any other suggestions or agreement/disagreement.

Theory 2 is a bug in the .122 load but leaning away from that since the 9.1 did the same thing. I did see an old post about a similar issue and upgrading to .129 but I don't have that one unfortunately.

If max logins is the case, reset system 2 from SAT will free the resources.
Do you have the modem options and USRobotics modem hardware options set correctly?

Yes, modem has always worked fine. Even in this current state, the modem does answer, handshake, and connect. Just doesn't respond with a "login". The site does not have a terminal so I planned on a visit tomorrow with a laptop and RS-232. Isn't the terminal port reserved from the max concurrent login total? i.e. - 5 total but 1 always reserved for the local terminal port whether in use so if this this a max login issue.....I should still be able to get in???

I remember from last time a tech was on-site with this same issue, reseating the clan did not clear the issue. The tech that day has no rs-232 so we're not sure if an rs-232 would have worked (or will work tomorrow). I seem to remember reading somewhere that the 5 login limit always reserved 1 one for the rs232 SAT but I guess we'll see tomorrow. If not, I'll reboot, swap the clan, and hope the issue doesn't resurface.
