Hi All,

My question is, can this server use quad core Xeon processors? It has a single dual core Xeon 5110 processor and I'm interested in getting a couple of quad cores for it.
If so, what is the highest spec Xeon that could be put in it? There really is a scarcity of definative info on the HP website.

Cheers,

Matt.

It looks like you might be able to upgrade to dual quad core processors. From the link below...

NOTE:
Future upgradeable to Xeon® Series 5300 Quad-Core, or 5100 Dual-Core processors (Please
contact your regional sales support to determine quad core upgradeability. Some of the earlier shipping
models may not support this upgrade)

It also lists which processors it can be upgraded to. For this I would contact HP for advice.

Thanks Sam. I might have to contact HP then. Worth a try.
