Hello Everyone,
I have been called in to rescue a system that has crashed in a bad way during the evening. When the server is rebooted, the DOS windows 2000 server boot progress bar reaches 100% then locks up. If I boot using safe mode the systems locks on mup.sys. If I boot from the CD and select restore, it locks on "examining 52080MB disk on 0 at id 0 on bus 0 on cpqarry2".
they have a "smart array 431 PCI SCSI Raid controller" installed, which I have been told by Compaq is supported on the Win2000 disk.
Attempting to create a parallel install on the array, also locks the system at the above point, so I cant even do a clean build if so required. Running the ADU has not reported any errors on the controller, so whats going on. Obviously the array is fine as it boots so far, but the system is not reporting any "currupt file" errors???
I have contacted Compaq and Microsoft who are still scratching their heads. If anyboby has any tips or links that may assist in me getting some free time this weekend i would be very grateful.
Thanks in advance
Ray
