Can I connect tape drive to the enbedded SCSI RAID Controler?

yes, it is not an issue, we used to have a single tape backup hooked to our DL380 Domain Controller.

I am talking about SCSI Controller, not about DOMAIN.
I know, I can attach tape to the additional SCSI adapter, but what about RAID CONTROLLER?

Sorry you misunderstood me. Our DL380 that we had the tape drive hooked to just happened to be our Domain controller.

Are you already using the External SCSI port below the drive slots for another device ?

No, just channel 1 is in use. But channel 2 , wich has external interface is not in use.
From my previouse experience with IBM's servers I know it is impossible.

The external SCSI port on a DL380 G3 will only be disabled if two internal channels are being used. In other words, I echo Terry712's response.
