Can you help???

I have a quad Proliant 6500 - I had to build from start - no smart CD - it all goes well - but can not see all processors - I have followed instructions @ MS support to enable multi support but the machine hangs on reboot - Am following instructions to the Tee:

Has anyone had a similar problem, can you advise what to do next- is it some other issue????

have done it!

Create a back up profile.

Reboot.

If you have a diagnostic partition boot up to it. (if you haven't get the floppies from Compaq/hp)

At the first blue screen press 'ctrl A' to select advanced.

See > configure hardware >select that

see> review/adjust settings>

Find APIC setting

change to APIC fully mapped mode>

reboot the machine.

After the reboot in device manager >Computer ...the setting has automatically become >>> MPS Multiprocessor PC

All processors enabled. <<worse things have happened>>
