Boot from the SmartStart CD and do a system erase. The reboot and let SmartStart re-detect all the hardware.
 
Think the 3110 is a really old server so it might use the original SMART array controller rather than a SMART-2 or above which SmartStart needs.


SMART-1 has to be configured from within the F10 setup.
You should then be able to use SMARTStart to do the rest.

Nope... Just manages to find an OLD schematic of the network layout, it didnt actually have an array controller/RAID controller. It seems that in its past life the server was just a processing unit and that the HDD's were infact kept externally in seperate racks! No wonder there was no controller! D'oh!

Thanks for the help anyway, must got and see if I can steal a controller fromsomewhere now... ;o)
