Dear all

I just got 2 old servers from my company which are no longer being used. One of them is running ok and other is not.

I got the Compaq SmartSuit CD 5.5 and I did delete with System Erase utility.

I follow every single step in the SmartSuit CD and I'm currently stuck ... I always get "No Physical or Logical disk on primary controller" at the end.

It seems I miss step here?

Any guidance or anything .. I'm really appreciated that.

Thanks, V

Are you sure the cable from the drive cage is going to the onboard SCSI controller?

In most cases a PL1600 would have been using a RAID controller which may have been removed and the cable not reconnected properly.

Hi Ntinlin

I check the SCSI card and it does loose it ... so I fix it and it seems working.

But prior to this, I made a radical changes on "Review / Modify Hardware settings" for testing ... and now I got this error after booting (memory check - SCSI Check):

Serial Cable Error Detected.
(Check for a proper cable type)

Please advice ... is there anyway I can reset BIOS?

Thanks.

You can download the system erase disk from Compaq which will clear the NVRAM, HDD array info. etc.
