Hi ihave a cuestion abute Proliant 1600 can i take away my scsi controller card and replase it vith a ide controller card and just have ide hard drivs on the server. i have problems to get scsi drives they are to expensiv.
Sorry aboth my english ;-)

IDE drives are not supported on the majority of Proliant servers with the exception of the CD-ROM drive. That does not mean they will not work though, it just means that Compaq/HP offer no support or drivers for IDE drives.

I know of people who have done what you suggest, took a bit of effort and testing but they got it working in the end.
