Is it possible for the server to recognize and use drives in the scsi array and a drive attached to the embeded scsi controler at the same time. Specifically, how do I boot to the on board scsi and then write to the drives attched to the array. Thanks.

should be no problem at all, connect the disks correctly and put your boot order (hit F10 @ startup) to match the controller you wish to boot from (if you wish to boot from scsi you set embedded scsi to 1st)

that should do it

I still need help. When I boot dos from the embeded
SCSI I can use the attached drive and cdrom, but the
system does not recognize the drives attached to the
array. The drives show up on the monitor when booting,
but do not show up as D: and can not be found by fdisk,
etc. Also, I can change my drive sequence and ask for
the array to be first, and then fdisk will see the
array drive, but not the embeded scsi drive. Booting
from a: makes no difference.
I think I need a driver in my config.sys to see the
array in dos when it is chosen in the compaq rom as the
"second" drive order.
What I want to do, is boot to scsi C: and use the
array as a d:backup/image device. Thanks, Bob
