Projects Show Under Wrong Names or Show Duplicate???!

Here is a recurring issue we have had for as long as I can remember.... We are currently on 7.5.4 and started on 7.5.1. When we do a lot of work like project duplication, renaming projects, deleting a lot of objects, etc. all the projects under our production project source start showing under the wrong name (name of other projects). If a user tries to enter what shows as project A he gets an error that he doesn't have permission to use project B, etc. I have tried to get Tech Support to WebEx in when this is happening but of course they never have time. When they eventually call me back 4 hours later I have had to restart services since this is my production system. I was hoping it was fixed with 8.0.1 (my development system version) but it happened yesterday in 8 too.

Has anyone seen this before or have suggestions??? We restart services every night and do server maintenance (disk cleanup, defrag, reboot) every weekend.

I ran into the situation once. The production project is renamed to some other project name. It happened to two of our projects. This happened when we migrated to 8.0 and it only happened that one time. All we did was to restart the server to see the problem disappear.

This likely happens due to memory issues on the I-Server machine. Check the number of projects that are in the Projecty Monitor (loaded and unloaded), each will be using memory, I-Server gets confused and names projects incorrectly.

You must have disabled the popup warning windows.... When you rename a project you _have_ to restart the I-Server for the change to take effect.....

Now the main question is: why do you need to rename you projects in production?????
