Hi, I have made a projector which includes quicktime movies and put it on a CD. It works fine on my computer but when I bring to another computer, when I go to a frame with a QT Movie, It opens a dialogue box looking for the movie. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Frank

How are you Quicktime movies imported?

If you do a standard Import then the quicktime movie will be put into the actual director projector (increasing file size) or you can Link Import which just points to the file.

You may have Link imported and the path is pointing to the video on your harddrive, so when you look at it on another computer it looks for the quicktime movie as if it where still in the same place.

ie: Path points to C:\ProjectFile\movie.mov so unless the movie is in this folder on the other PC then it will not show up. You'll want to have the video path be somthing like
"ProjectFiles\movie.mov", the projectfiles folder (just and example folder name) would be in the root with your projector.

Also you may want to copy the Xtras folder to the root of yoru CD as well (just to make sure).

Best system is to learn how to use the searchpaths command as this will fix all linked media in one hit.

set the searchpaths = [the moviepath & "movies", the moviepath & "sounds"] and so on.
Lets you use external media (very good for editing the files as you don't need to keep importing them again).

In older versions of director all video files were external, this may have changed (I haven't used Director for a while) but there was no way to include video files with your projector, they had to be external.
