I am working on a project that requires us to install a staionary projector at the front of my church for use during services. The PC that will be running it will be at the back of the auditorium with the audio equipment. Probably 30 to 40 feet from the mount. Add about 10-15 feet to come down the back wall plug in to the pc.

Will a 50-60 foot DVI or DSUB cable work ok? Or will we need to purchase some kind of signal booster for that distance?

We will be basically be running slide presentations and the occasional video.

Any suggestions from past experiences are also very welcome. Thanks.

Look up CAT5 KVM extender on the Web. You should find some for ~$100 on eBay. Otherwise, look into an amplified VGA splitter.

That's too far: quality will be seriously impared. A CAT5 KVM as suggested will be better, but it still won't be a good quality as connected over a shorter DVI cable.

A better solution would be to get a wireless projector - but I guess that is too late to consider now?
