Using Project 2007.

How do I create a Summary Line on a Gantt chart using "Project Summary"?

Thanks,
Ray

Tools > Options > View-tab
Put a check in "Show Project Summary Task" (near the bottom)

Thanks PD.

I got the summary line as you instructed.

I was hoping this would show a better overall percent complete for the project.

The percent complete (9%) for the projet is accurate but the progress line shows the project 6 weeks ahead where the 9% is just about on schedule.

Do you have any suggestions on how to create a progress line that does not inaccuratly reflect where the overall project really is (on the Gantt view)?

Thanks,
Ray

Technically, %Complete refers to elapsed time; %WorkComplete refers to the ActualWork divided by the Total Work.

If -- and ONLY if -- you are accurately tracking work on every task then

View > Tracking Gantt
Format > Bar styles

In the top half of the Bar Styles popup dialog, scroll down to a blank row

Name: MyProgress
Appearance: use the bottom half of the popup dialog on the Bars tab to describe the shape. pattern and colour
Show for: Project Summary
Row: 1
From: Start
To: CompleteThrough
