When we try to publish anything to Project Server 2003 we get an error code 0x8C040028.

Has anyone had a similar error and does anyone know what is causing it.

The MS KB Article says permission on the view-drop folder and we've checked that and its not - or that ist due to the fact we are logging on with a Novell client...which we frankly do not know what to do anything about!?

I'm not a server guru but I'll offer this suggestion: Confirm that the Project Manager actually has an active user account in the project server database.

From the "Project Server 2003 Administr.pdf"

Manager Requires Authentication for Publish Operation (0x8c040028)

This error occurs when a project manager’s user account does not exist (in the Project Server database) and when creating accounts during publishing is not allowed.

Possible Causes
• A project manager is attempting to publish a project to the Project Server database when the project manager does not have a user account (either Project Server or Windows authenticated) in the Project Server database.

To resolve this Project Server Spooler error
• Create the user account for the project manager by using Project Web Access.
