We are currently debating whether or not MS Project Server 2003 can use Fixed Duration tasks as a default in our project plans and still provide enterprise level reports. We want to use the time sheet function but still plan on using fixed duration-effort driven tasks. Will we have problems with this approach and if so what will they be? We use fixed duration because it is simpler to control delivery dates and provide a more stable schedule for PM's who find MS Project difficult to understand.
