Project: Opening and resizing pictures

Hi

im a newbie to delphi and i have a project that i need to make, Well here goes to the project.

I need to make a small windows application that you can open a picture and it will resize it to one of two pre configured sizes i also want it to overlay a transparent grid on the picture then allow saving and printing (the overlay of grid is optional) im not asking for people to do this all im asking is for hints and tips on how a newbie might go about making this app.
Thank you for any help you may be able to give me.

The TImage component has a Strech property, but I think you should look into TCanvas.BitBlt.
